“Virtually all our customers are global companies who depend on their US operations," says Anders Grudén, CEO at Syncron International. "By establishing strong local presence in the Central time zone, we enhance our capabilities for helping customers run and develop world-class global supply chain processes via extended support and closer access to our professional services team."
The US office will mainly focus on serving its existing customer base with professional services and support and on expanding license sales in North America, initially to the mining and construction equipment industry sector.
Syncron’s US-based customers welcome the announcement. Volvo Construction Equipment, one of the world’s largest construction machine manufacturers, has a wide product range that's manufactured, serviced, and supported worldwide. Volvo CE is strongly committed to serving its global dealer network with immediate parts deliveries and service support.
“We greatly appreciate Syncron’s decision to strengthen its US presence," says Ron Collins, Logistics Manager at Volvo CE in North America. "Our supply chain processes are vital to our business, and proximity to our software partner is important.”
During the past 18 months, Syncron increased its workforce by 68%, established a new office in Poland, and acquired a UK-based partner.
“Right now, Syncron operates on the very front line of the global supply chain management market," says Grudén. "US presence is important for any player committed to serving global customers. The launch of our Chicago office marks a key milestone in our global expansion, which is set to continue at an aggressive pace in 2008.”
